Dear Valued YouGet Client,

Recently a vulnerability was discovered related to nearly all Intel processors that may have exposed them to the exploits known as "Meltdown" and "Spectre." We have reason to believe that your server(s) may currently be vulnerable to this exploit.

We strongly suggest updating all operating system software via Windows update or the update method relevant to your system(s) as soon as possible.

More information can be found at https://meltdownattack.com/ regarding these exploits. At the bottom of this link you can find links to the security notices for the hardware and software that are affected, along with information about which versions contain the patches needed to mitigate the vulnerability.

The patches currently available only provide partial mitigation for these CPU flaws, and further patches will become available in the coming weeks and months. To remain as secure as possible, please continue to monitor the link above along with the security notices provided by your operating system vendor. As additional patches become available, you may need to perform additional server reboots to apply them. Due to the seriousness of these vulnerabilities we recommend applying security patches as soon as possible, rather than waiting for a comprehensive fix to be completed before rebooting.

For customers utilizing our public cloud services, we will be sending a separate notice shortly regarding a maintenance window to perform a reboot of the hypervisors hosting your instances to apply the first set of security patches mitigating the Meltdown vulnerability.

Regards,
YouGet Host
